Three-Course Breakfast at Our Port Angeles Bed and Breakfast

Every stay at Sea Cliff Gardens includes a healthy, robust three-course breakfast, served each morning above the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Travelers rank us the #1 bed and breakfast in Port Angeles on TripAdvisor, and breakfast is the part of a visit they bring up most. For many of them, it's the reason to book a bed and breakfast instead of a rental.
We plan the morning around good food and an unhurried start before a big day on the Olympic Peninsula. You come downstairs to a table that's already set, with hosts ready to help map out the day if you'd like ideas.

What's on the Table

Each breakfast comes out in three courses, balanced to carry you through a full day outdoors.

Fresh Fruit

The meal opens light, with a course of fresh fruit.

A Starch Course

The hearty middle of the meal, and the course that keeps you going until lunch.

A Protein Course

The most filling plate of the morning, made for travelers with miles of trail ahead of them.

You won't need to stop for a granola bar on the way to the park.

Breakfast With a View of the Strait

Sea Cliff Gardens was custom designed as a bed and breakfast for this spot on the bluff, and the house was laid out to make the most of the water and the grounds. Our English gardens run from the house to the edge of our 130-foot cliff, and the strait opens up beyond them toward Vancouver Island.

Some mornings bring freighters heading into Puget Sound. Others start in fog that lifts by the second course. Bald eagles often hunt along the shoreline. Our gardens were originally designed by a master gardener and featured in Garden Design magazine, and with more than 10,000 plants, there's color outside the window in every season.

Two Seatings, 8:30 or 9:00

Breakfast is served at 8:30 or 9:00, so you can choose the time that fits your plans. The earlier option suits travelers who want a full day in the park, and the later one makes room for a slower start. With only five suites at the inn, mornings here stay quiet and personal.

Fuel for Olympic National Park Days

Olympic National Park is about 20 minutes from our door, and the Olympic Discovery Trail is five. A real breakfast matters on a day that might cover Hurricane Ridge in the morning and Lake Crescent by afternoon.

The advice is part of the meal too. One traveler wrote that their host knew everything about the trails and sights across the entire peninsula, and plenty of plans for the day get made between courses. Our North Section and Hoh Rainforest itineraries cover the longer trips.

If you want to be on the trail before 8 a.m., ask for our early-bird continental breakfast at least 24 hours ahead. It usually includes muffins, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, and a banana, ready for you to take on the road.

Food Allergies and Dietary Needs

If you have a food allergy or follow a specific diet, tell us before your stay. Add it to the comments when you book, or email relax@seacliffgardens.com, and we'll talk through what we can prepare for you.

Why Breakfast Makes the Case for a B&B

A vacation rental gives you a kitchen and leaves the rest to you. That usually means a grocery run the night before, cooking in an unfamiliar space, and dishes in the sink before you can leave for the trailhead. Here the cooking and cleanup are ours, so your morning starts at the table.

Sea Cliff Gardens has welcomed guests for more than two decades, and a good breakfast has been part of every stay. For a lot of travelers, that's the deciding factor between a rental and an Olympic Peninsula bed and breakfast.

A Discount When You Skip Breakfast

Breakfast is included, but it isn't required. We offer a discount to travelers who skip it, whether that means an early hike or sleeping in and eating at one of the local restaurants instead. You'll find it with our Specials, and our Restaurants page lists some of our favorite places to eat nearby.

Reserve Your Suite and Your Seat at the Table

Choose your dates, add any dietary needs to your reservation, and we'll take care of the mornings. Couples planning an anniversary or honeymoon can pair the stay with our Olympic National Park Romantic Getaway, and the Suites page compares all five rooms.
