Day 5: Dungeness Spit and National Wildlife Refuge (15 minutes from Sea Cliff Gardens)

Day 5: Dungeness Spit and National Wildlife Refuge (15 minutes from Sea Cliff Gardens)

Reasons to go:

  • To see the world’s longest natural sand spit, where ambitious walkers hike through five miles of sand to reach the lighthouse and visitor center (and trudge through five miles of sand to return), and less energetic visitors stroll through trails along the coastline and venture a short walk onto the Spit
  • A terrific bird-watching spot
