Day 2: Drive to Hoh Rain Forest (two hours from Sea Cliff Gardens)

Reaasons to go:

  • A temperate rain forest, largely unchanged over the past 5,000 years, created by twelve feet of rain per year
  • Nature trails, such as “Hall of Mosses” and “Spruce Nature Trail,” for hiking and biking
  • A large herd of Roosevelt elk, about 400 strong
  • Fifty miles of meandering Hoh River, where the adventurous go rafting and kayaking, and others quietly relax
