Olympic National Park Gets Its Own Coin
May 25th, 2011Join the United States Mint and the National Park Service for the ceremonial launch of the Olympic National Park quarter, the eighth coin released in the America the Beautiful Quarters® Program. The event will be held at the Port Angeles City Pier at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14. Of course, you might want to stay at Sea Cliff Gardens Bed & Breakfast if you’re heading here from beyond the Olympic Peninsula!
Description: The new quarter shows a Roosevelt elk standing on a gravel river bar of the Hoh River with a view of Mount Olympus in the background. Inscriptions are OLYMPIC, WASHINGTON, 2011 and E PLURIBUS UNUM.
