Five Days of Exploring

Five Days of Exploring

Sea Cliff Gardens, a Sequim-Port Angeles inn, is the perfect home base for day trips into and around Olympic National Park. There are endless possibilities here, from biking to hiking, from canoeing to beach combing.

Here are our suggestions for five perfect days exploring the Olympic Peninsula.

Day 1: If the sun is shining and the mountains are clear, it’s a great day to visit Hurricane Ridge, take in Lake Crescent, explore Marymere Falls and top it off with a scenic drive to Sol Duc Valley.

Day 2: Take a leisurely and scenic drive to the Hoh Rain Forest – known for its lush canopy and mossy carpet. Tour the sleepy, misty town of Forks, the backdrop for Twilight. And top the day off beachcombing along the shore of the vast Pacific Ocean.

Day 3: Travel along the northern coast of the Olympic Peninsula to Neah Bay and Cape Flattery. Hike to Shi Shi Beach or go kayaking on Freshwater Bay

Day 4: Catch the ferry from Port Angeles and enjoy Victoria, BC on Vancouver Island. Fill your day with shopping, high tea at the Empress Hotel, and the fabulous year-round floral display at Butchart Gardens.

Day 5: Head east, toward Sequim, to the Dungeness Spit and Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge. Take in the area’s lavender farms and explore the Victorian seaport and arts community of Port Townsend.
